This 1970s home in Preston Hollow was reinvented by sisters with a modern design

For real estate investors, listing agents and sisters Nadia Fakih and Sarah Fakih, this Preston Hollow property has given them the opportunity to design their dream home. Although the sisters did not live in the house – it is an investment property – they were involved in its overhaul.

The sisters bought the house, as part of a larger real estate investment group, when it was in poor condition. The house was damaged when the October 2019 tornado swept through northern Texas, they said. Sarah Fakih said several people told them to tear it down and start over – especially since much of the house had been salvaged for materials – but the sisters decided to work with the remains of the house.

“We bought this because we love the flow,” Sarah Fakih “The building, the house itself, has a lot of integrity. We didn’t want to tear it down.

The house was originally built in 1976 and the renovations were completed in 2021, with some cosmetic details still being finalized. The house has five bedrooms, six baths, and a half bath over 5,840 square feet. The home is one level and sits on 0.49 acre lot.

The home’s pivot-style entry door sets the stage for its modern interior with clean lines and a minimalist color palette. There is a formal dining room and office near the front of the house both of which have views of the neighborhood through several large windows. The formal dining room ceiling has a linear design which adds to the modern feel.

The kitchen has an eye-catching design with black cabinetry and complementary warm toned wood accents. It opens onto a large living space which is divided by a double-sided fireplace.

The master suite has a coffee bar, its own utility room and a large bedroom with enough space for a sitting area and access to the rear patio through French doors. Of the remaining four bedrooms, three have an en-suite bathroom and the fourth shares a bathroom with the exercise or bonus room.

Outside, the house has a swimming pool and spa. The property also has an attached garage that can accommodate three cars. The house has a large circular driveway which, according to Nadia Fakih, gives the house a majestic look when you go up and added ease when you receive a large group.

The Dallas home at 5603 Dittmar Place is on the market for $ 2,500,000 as listed by Nadia Fakih and Sarah Fakih of Compass.
