Sudbury baker Justine Martin adds another award to her resume

She was recognized as the winner of the ‘Global Round’ of the International Wedding Awards

Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop in Greater Sudbury has been recognized as the winner of the Global Round of the International Wedding Awards, an award given to distinguished cake decorators from around the world.

The winners of the International Wedding Awards are selected based on their client’s reviews and wedding portfolios from the past calendar year. Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop is rated 5 stars on all wedding platforms.

“It was so wonderful to work on so many weddings this summer after the hiatus we all felt in 2020,” Martin said in a press release.

“By working with certain clients for more than three years, you develop an intimate and intimate relationship. Seeing them finally marry, much after three or even four postponements, is so gratifying.

“The support we continue to receive from our community never ceases to amaze me. I am more than proud of the work our team has done over the past four years and I continue to be grateful to the over 200 amazing couples who not only made us part of their very special day, but who have took time. of their busy lives to leave us opinions, helping us to reach more and more people.

Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop was also recognized during the local round of the International Wedding Awards in early 2021.

Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop is not the first business in Northern Ontario to be honored with the International Wedding Awards. In 2019, Rebecca Bose Photographer was also recognized for professional excellence in the local round photography category.

Launched in 2018, the International Wedding Awards aim to celebrate the success of outstanding wedding professionals from around the world in local, national and global categories.

Recognized internationally for excellence in cake design and decorating, Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop is Sudbury’s original luxury bakery, specializing in the making of luxurious personalized desserts and dining experiences.

From cakes and cupcakes to cookies, macaroons and more, their baked goods are handcrafted on site, using the best fresh, local, and natural ingredients wherever possible.

Self-taught, Martin has spent six years developing personalized recipes and honing her skills, the last three of which she has operated Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop for three years. His edible art creations have been recognized across the continent.

Martin was named the Best Win This Space Entrepreneur of Downtown Sudbury in 2017 and was recognized as Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce in 2018.

The Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop team took third place in the sculpted cake category at the 18th Annual Retail Bakers Association Pillsbury Bakers Plus Grand Champion Creative Decorating Competition in 2019.

Martin was co-host of the Sudbury / Manitoulin episode of the LCBO’s 5 Stops miniseries, which aired in October 2019. In 2020, Martin was named Cake Designer of the Year at the Ontario Wedding Awards, received an International Wedding Award for Cake Makers and was named a finalist for the American Cake Awards in the Rising Star of Canada category.

2021 has already seen Justine win the Best Cakes category in Rent My Wedding magazine’s Best of the Best and finalist for Cake Designer of the Year by the Ontario Wedding Association Awards.
