Architecture and engineering firm Shive-Hattery has acquired St. Louis-based KdG Architects Shive-Haterie announced today. According to a press release, the acquisition will strengthen West Des Moines-based Shive-Hattery’s reach in regional and national markets. It will also enhance its design capabilities for hospitality, gaming, commercial and government customers, officials said in the statement. KdG Architects is a 20 person architecture, engineering and interior design firm serving hospitality and gaming clients. “KdG Architects’ strong national portfolio in hospitality and gaming was very attractive to us, as these are the markets we currently serve regionally,” said Shive-Hattery President Jennifer Bennett. “Customers across the country can expect an unparalleled experience as our employees work collaboratively across a network of 14 design offices.” KdG Architects will operate as KdG Architects, a division of Shive-Hattery, with W. Peter Maruska continuing to lead the St. Louis office. Shive-Hattery employs 450 people and 14 design offices in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio and Arizona.
