RMIT Online and Canva design design courses

RMIT Online partners with Canva to create three human-centered design courses to equip students and mid-career designers with hands-on design, user experience, and prototyping capabilities.
According to RMIT Online, these courses meet the growing demand for designers and combine strong technical skills and knowledge of design thinking principles with the ability to identify and solve business problems.
“Our market research identified that most organizations have designers who can work on the tools and execute a design brief, but companies are looking for designers who can step back and make sure they solve the right problems,” says Li Bronzer. “Design is more than just a set of skills. It’s a way of thinking and we’ve developed programs that teach students both the theory and the practical skills to develop that.”
RMIT Online has also partnered with Symplicit, REA, and Fjord (part of Accenture Interactive), to create the curricula for the new Graduate Certificate in UX Design and Graduate Certificate and Diploma. graduates in digital product design.

Subject matter experts from these partners bring their professional experiences and current industry issues to the course.
“This partnership is an opportunity to share our expertise in taking a vision and turning it into a world-leading product, and to help students learn to do the same,” said Andrew Green, design manager at Canva.
In the Graduate Certificate in UX Design, one of the main objectives of the course is to help designers meet the challenges of balancing the in-depth exploration of products, services and the challenges of experience. with the organizational and commercial realities of the design industry.
“We also want to embed business decision-making and strategic thinking into the UX designer’s core skill set,” adds Matt Kurowski, RMIT Online Program Manager.
In addition to developing mindsets, teaching strategic thinking, and responding to complex problems, digital product design courses also focus on interpersonal leadership skills and design and research operations capabilities.
“These courses explore how products, services, and experiences limit and unlock opportunities for local and global value and impact, both now and in the future,” says Kurowski.
LinkedIn has listed the user experience researcher as one of Australia’s fastest growing job titles, with a salary of up to $161,000. The demand for digital product managers is also on the rise. According to analytics software company Burning Glass, there has been a 42% compound annual growth rate in job postings since 2016.
These courses will be accredited by RMIT University.
