PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — Several redevelopment projects in Pascagoula are set to continue into 2022.
Projects involving apartments, commercial spaces and a boutique hotel are expected to start soon, Gulflive.com reported.
The city’s downtown is experiencing tremendous growth, said Pascagoula City Manager Michael Silverman.
Projects include City Centre, which will include 28 apartments, a rooftop bar, cafe and offices.
A boutique hotel, Hotel Whisky, is also planned in the city center. It will include a mix of hotels and apartments, a swimming pool and two commercial spaces facing Avenue Delmas.

A site on Pascagoula Street will be converted into four apartments and indoor event space. Retail spaces will include White Pelican, an interior design store that will sell furniture, homewares, apparel, gifts and accessories.
District Flats, a brick building with a courtyard, will be renovated into six apartments and offices.
Delo’s on Delmas, a coffee shop, is also planned downtown.
Additionally, nine new townhouses are being built along the Pascagoula River.
Mississippi lawmakers allocated $7.4 million to the Pascagoula Redevelopment Authority last year for use in the downtown area. About $3 million of that came from the Gulf Coast Restoration Funds, the news site reported. Another $4.4 million came from a bond issue.
Pascagoula is a city of approximately 20,000 people located along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, approximately 290 kilometers southeast of Jackson.
