Meaning. Langerholc and Sabatina invited to join Transportation Revenue Options Commission
Senators Wayne Langerholc Jr. (R-Cambria County) and John Sabatina (D-Philadelphia), Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee and Chairman of the Minority, have been invited to serve on the Transportation Revenue Options Committee.
Governor Tom Wolf formed the commission earlier this month to develop comprehensive funding recommendations for the state’s aging infrastructure. Yassmin Gramian, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, will chair the committee, and members are drawn from the House and Senate transportation and appropriations committees and the public and private sectors.
“We need a government that works to address the transportation funding disparities in Keystone State, but we also need a government that lives within its means without just imposing another tax, fee or toll.” , Langerholc said. “I look forward to working in a bipartisan fashion to undertake important positive reforms that will move everyone forward in this Commonwealth. “
“It is an honor for me to accept the appointment to this commission to find solutions to the transportation funding crisis in Pennsylvania,” said Sabatina. “I look forward to working with the other members of the committee, who come from very diverse backgrounds in the transportation industry.
The committee will meet by March 25 and report back to Wolf on the committee’s activities and funding options by August 1.
