Kerala model death case: interior designer arrested for drug trafficking, suspected by police
Kochi, November 29 (IANS): Kerala Police Police have investigated the deaths of three people, including two models, in a car crash, suspecting arrested interior designer Saiju Thankachen of suspected drug trafficking.
Ancy Kabeer, 25, and Anjana Shajan, 24, died instantly in the crash on November 1.
Thankachen, who claimed to be an interior designer, was the one who followed the two women after they rushed out of the hotel where a DJ party was being held.
Police recovered Thankachen’s cell phone and discovered he had connections to many young women, sources said.
Police will now call the women whose photos were found on her cell phone.
He also suspects that Thankachen also deals in drugs and although he only has a degree in interior design, he had a luxurious lifestyle and drove an Audi car, which had chased the two former women. Miss Kerala who left the hotel.
Thankachen confessed to following the two women and alerting them that they were speeding and went ahead. But after not seeing the ladies’ car, he returned only to see that their car had encountered a serious accident.
While the two women died instantly, a third passenger succumbed to his injuries days later, while the driver escaped with injuries.
The driver was then arrested by the police investigation team.
The case, which was reportedly framed as an accident case, took a turn when police discovered that CCTV visuals from the hotel where the DJ party took place were missing.
Police later arrested the owner of the hotel – Roy J. Vayalatin and five of his staff on the grounds that the visuals had been destroyed, but within 24 hours they were all released on bail.
Although the police made three attempts to recover the hard drive that the owner said was dumped in nearby backwaters, the hard drive was not recovered.
